Frank Lloyd Wright


Frank Lloyd Wright was born in 1867 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. One of America’s most¬†influential architects, he designed approximately 1000 structures with over 400 of those¬†being completed. He was the leader of the prairie style architecture movement. One of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most well known prairie designs is the Frederick C. Robie House in Chicago. He designed this house in his studio, next to his residence, in Oak Park, Illinois.In 1914 his city sized entertainment complex design called the Midway Gardens was opened. This is where the famous sprite sculptures, sculpted by Alfonso Iannelli, adorned the facility. Frank Lloyd Wright died in 1959 while he was under going surgery.
